SVT Gävleborg has asked the heads of operations for the county's health centers if they are planning any staffing changes as a result of the new rules.

- Our assessment is that none of our public health centers will make any changes, we need our general specialists in everything from the daily clinical work to the supervision of educational doctors, the heads of operations write in a joint response to SVT Gävleborg.

We also ask about how the staffing situation has looked backwards and today.

- We see the same shortage of general specialists in the Gävleborg Region as is seen nationally.

We have general specialists at all of our health centers, but we also see a need to recruit further and therefore work continuously with recruitment, the operations managers answer.

Will you have GPs present for fewer days now that you get that opportunity?

At which health centers then, if so?

- We do not see that it will affect our staffing of general specialists at our health centers, the managers answer.

Are you happy with the opportunity / change or do you think it is a bad decision?

- We relate to the decision, but we do not see that it will affect our view of having general specialists in place.

We need our general specialists to satisfy a functioning primary care based on competence both in terms of patient flows and supervision.

Guidance for educational physicians is an important part of satisfying tomorrow's family physicians.

The heads of operations are Jörgen Tranevik for western Gästrikland, Eva Söderhäll for Gävle, Helena Bikoff for southern Hälsingland and Hudiksvall and Anna Andersson for Ljusdal.
