As every year, the high temperatures push some young people from Nantes to engage in this refreshing but dangerous activity.
Sunday, around 5.30 pm, a 17-year-old teenager was "seriously injured" after having jumped into the Erdre "for fun", at the level of the Tortière bridge in Nantes, report the firefighters.
Hit in the shoulder, "he had to be taken care of by specialized nautical rescue and a nurse firefighter before his transport to the Nantes University Hospital", indicates the departmental fire and rescue service.
The firefighters recall that the Erdre is a "dangerous natural environment not suitable" for swimming.
As in the Loire, the practice is prohibited there.
