An army soldier in his 20s died six days after he was vaccinated against COVID-19, and it is understood that the health authorities are planning to investigate the causality.

According to a military official on the 14th, a soldier A belonging to a certain army unit in Seoul was found unconscious in the dormitory on the morning of the 14th, and was rushed to a nearby hospital after emergency measures, but died.

Mr. A received the first dose of Pfizer vaccine on the 7th.

However, a military official said that the link with the vaccine was not confirmed.

A military official said, "We are investigating the exact cause and circumstances of the accident," and "The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will investigate the vaccine and causality."

In this regard, it is reported that the military and health authorities are planning to conduct an autopsy on Mr.

Meanwhile, this is the second case of death after vaccination in the military.

Last month, a soldier in his 40s was diagnosed with brain death seven days after completing the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine, and then died three days later.

An autopsy was not performed for the soldier because his family did not want it, and therefore, a link to the vaccine was not confirmed.
