Israel's longest-serving prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, 71, has come to an end after more than 12 years in power due to the cooperation of opposition parties.

The Israeli Knesset (Parliament) approved a new coalition government with opposition parties through a parliamentary vote at a special general meeting on the 13th (local time).

This marked the official launch of the 'Rainbow Coalition', in which eight opposition parties, including leftists, rightists, and Arabs, participated in the center, centering on the centrist Ye Atid.

Until August 2023, the first half of the next government term, the prime minister will be Naftali Bennett, 49, head of the far-right party Yamina.

Yair Rapid, 58, head of Yeh Atid, a 'coalition designer', takes over as foreign minister and succeeds prime minister two years later.

With the inauguration of the new coalition, Netanyahu, who has been in power for 12 years and 2 months since March 31, 2009, following his first term of three years from 1996 to 1999, has walked the path of an opposition leader.
