Guest of the "Grand rendez-vous" on Sunday on Europe 1, the Minister for Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, explained her absence from the "march of freedoms" against far-right ideas, which took place on Saturday in France, by the unclear speech of "some leftist parties".

"When we say that Macron and Le Pen are worth it, it's irresponsible," she denounced.

INTERVIEW

The Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, in charge of Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, did not participate in the "march of freedoms" which brought together many left-wing organizations on Saturday in Paris and elsewhere in France.

To explain her absence, Marlène Schiappa notably highlighted the speech of "certain left-wing parties" which, according to her, associate the government with the extreme right.

"When we say that Macron and Le Pen are worth it, it's irresponsible," she denounced Sunday in

"When everything is extreme right, nothing is extreme right"

The Minister Delegate also underlined the organization on Saturday "of a meeting around Laurent Saint-Martin (LREM candidate), long planned, for the regional elections" in Ile-de-France to justify his absence. But it is rather the presence of organizations that Marlène Schiappa considers "rather extreme left" that discouraged his coming. "Yesterday the slogans were 'we are against the far right and everything that looks like the far right'. And when we say to them 'yes, us too, then what exactly is it? 'extreme right?', in fact, we have a list in which the government finds itself, "she regretted.

"When everything is extreme right, nothing is extreme right", insisted Marlène Schiappa.

"When we are told that fighting terrorism is far-right and wanting to protect the police is far-right, I don't agree with that."

"A responsibility of certain left-wing parties who explain to you that everything is from the extreme right"

While the National Rally could achieve a high score in the second round according to the polls, Marlène Schiappa also attributed part of the dynamism of this party to some of his political opponents on the left.

"There is a responsibility of certain left-wing parties which explains to you that everything is from the extreme right. When you are told Macron-Le Pen it is the same, when we say that in the event of a second round between Macron and Le Pen we will not vote because we are on the left and we want to keep our hands clean, that's irresponsible, ”she criticized.

And to conclude: "When we make people believe that the policy of the government would be a policy close to the ideas of the National Rally, it is irresponsible."
