The Moscow authorities will hold a drawing of cars among citizens who will receive the first component of the COVID-19 vaccine for the first time from June 14 to July 11.

As Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his blog, "in order to sustainably improve the situation with coronavirus, it is necessary to significantly accelerate vaccination against COVID-19."

In this regard, the city administration decided to expand the incentive program for vaccinated people already operating in the capital.

“Once a week, five cars worth about 1 million rubles will be raffled off.

Information about the results of the draws will be announced on Wednesdays, starting from June 23, on the air of the Moscow 24 TV channel, Sobyanin wrote.

The mayor specified that funds for an additional incentive program were provided by Sberbank, Lukoil, Megafon, Rosneft, Russian Railways, Severstal, VTB and a number of others.

“But, of course, the main benefit for those who will take root is incommensurable with any car - it is their own health and peace of mind,” the mayor wrote.

Along with this, Sobyanin said that he had been revaccinated.

According to the mayor, he was first vaccinated in 2020, but after a year, antibody titers began to fall.

“Two days ago I installed the first component of Sputnik V again.

I feel good.

Which is what I wish for you, ”concluded Sobyanin.

Recall that on June 12, the mayor announced the introduction of a non-working day regime in the capital with the preservation of wages due to the dramatically aggravated situation with COVID-19.

Residents of the capital are expected to have a "long weekend" lasting nine days - from 12 to 20 June.

At the same time, the city-wide prom in Gorky Park was canceled in Moscow.

The press service of the Moscow Department of Education and Science explained that this decision was due to the difficult epidemiological situation in the city.

“There will not be a city-wide celebration for graduates, which was traditionally held at the end of June in Gorky Park, this year.

The decision to cancel it was made due to the fact that the situation with coronavirus remains difficult in the capital and there is a significant increase in the number of cases, including among schoolchildren, ”RIA Novosti quotes a spokesman for the department’s press service.

The department recalled that in large parks of the city from June 13, the operation of entertainment facilities is suspended.

"Refusal to hold a large mass event, when several tens of thousands of graduates and their teachers gather at the same time in Gorky Park, will preserve the health of children and adults," the department noted.
