The first name Donald has been given less to babies in the United States in recent years.

That's what the U.S. Social Security Administration's 2020 ranking of the most popular first names reveals, reports

HuffPost

.

The past year has been the worst time for the first name of former US President Donald Trump, since the creation of the 1880 ranking. It ended up in 610th place, after already several years of decline.

A total of 444 babies were baptized in this way in 2020.

A very popular first name in 1934

In 2019, 507 babies were so named and 539 the year before.

Donald was however 6th in the ranking in 1934, a year in which more than 30,000 boys and even 110 girls were named as such.

In 1946, the year Trump was born, his first name was ranked 13th in the rankings.

A small jump in popularity was noted in 2017, where the first name gained four places in the ranking.

But this disenchantment with the first names of American presidents is not new.

Ronald, Richard and Georges had also experienced a decline in notoriety after the election of Reagan, Nixon and Bush.
