At least seven civilians were killed in two attacks in the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday.

Six people were injured, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said.

Initially, no one confessed to the attacks on two vans in the west of the city.

Both the militant Islamist Taliban and the terrorist militia “Islamic State” (IS) regularly carry out such attacks.

Attacks in other parts of the country left at least six other dead.

At the same time, the Taliban took control of two other districts on Saturday, as confirmed by members of the local council.

Since the official withdrawal of international troops began on May 1st, at least 17 districts in the crisis country have fallen to the Islamists.

The withdrawal should be completed by mid-September at the latest.

At least twelve government security forces were reportedly killed in action.

The districts captured by the Taliban are Tolak in the central Afghan province of Ghor and Zara in the northern province of Balkh.

Afghanistan is divided into around 400 districts in 34 provinces.
