At the same time, Rosstat clarifies that in 2019 there was a decrease in mortality from alcohol in the country.

It was almost 2% lower than in 2018.

The department adds that last year, compared to 2019, there was an increase in mortality associated with mental disorders and behavioral disorders.

The corresponding figure increased from 19 440 to 24 159 cases.

Earlier, the Deputy Minister of Health of Russia Oleg Salagai said that the country recorded a decrease in the level of consumption of tobacco and alcohol.
