As RIA Novosti reports with reference to the department, a draft law has been prepared to amend the law "On additional measures of state support for families with children."
The document proposes to expand the circle of persons entitled to additional measures of state support.
“Fathers raising a child alone will be able to get maternity capital,” the message says.
It is noted that the certificate can be used by men who are alone raising a second, third or subsequent children born after January 1, 2007, as well as the first child born after January 1, 2020 in the event of the death of a mother of children who is not a citizen of Russia, or the deprivation of her parents right.
Earlier, the chairman of the Public Chamber's commission on demography, Sergei Rybalchenko, made a proposal to introduce paternal capital.
The letter was sent to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
