“In order to ensure security, at a meeting between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Geneva, the Federal Council approved a temporary restriction on the use of airspace in the Geneva area from June 15 to 17, 2021,” the statement said.

Also, increased surveillance of the airspace will be conducted by the country's air force.

Earlier, the Kremlin confirmed that the talks between the presidents of Russia and the United States will take place on June 16 at the Villa La Grange in Geneva.

The press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov also added that Vladimir Putin will fly to the summit in Geneva on June 16 - the day of talks with his American counterpart Joe Biden.
