According to the UK, which is hosting the meeting, the G7 countries will jointly donate one billion doses of covid-19 vaccine to low- and middle-income countries.

SVT's European correspondent David Boati says that he does not see it as completely unrealistic, given that they will be wearing it by the end of next year.

At the same time, he describes that there are tensions within the group.

- The EU is quite annoyed at the US, which has had export restrictions and focused on vaccinating its own population first, while the EU has exported a lot of vaccines.

Now the US takes the lead and promises half a billion doses and appears a bit like "the good guy", and within the EU they mutter a bit, says Boati.
