June 11, 2021 "The use of Comirnaty *", Pfizer / BioNTech's anti-Covid vaccine, "in children and adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 with no previous illness is currently not generally recommended".

This is the recommendation issued in Germany by the Standing Committee for Vaccination (Stiko) at the Robert Koch Institute.

Experts recommend that children and adolescents be vaccinated against the Sars-CoV-2 coronavirus only if they suffer from certain diseases.

To justify the decision, the fact that the study on which EMA (the European Medicines Agency) based its authorization for the use of Pfizer in the 12-15 year range is limited in numbers. "Few children included in the study". And they explain "the number of children and adolescents vaccinated in the controlled approval study was small, about 1,000, and on the other hand the average follow-up time was short (1-2 months".
