11 June 2021 After 5 years of investigation in France, Volkswagen, Renault, Peugeot and Citroen are investigated in the scandal linked to the 'Dieselgate'. Fiat-Chrysler is instead convened for the beginning of July. The scandal broke out in 2015, after accusations by the American environmental agency, which led Volkswagen to recognize that it had rigged 11 million vehicles with software capable of making its cars appear less polluting than they really were. A very dangerous scam, for the health of people and animals, which led the French justice to pass under the magnifying glass also on other car brands.

A situation that paves the way for a possible trial in France and compensation for the owners of the vehicles, the value of which collapsed when the scandal broke out in 2015. Renault, Volkswagen, and Stellantis, the new parent company of Peugeot, reject all accusations. Citroen and Fiat-Chrysler.
