Villeurbanne won on the floor of Gravelines 94 to 61 Friday night in a late match of the French basketball championship and glued to the top of the Elite standings, tied with JDA Dijon.

Asvel won its 25th game of the season out of 32 contested, the same record as Dijon (78.1%).

The two teams, who have lost just seven times, are putting pressure on Monaco, who also have seven losses but have played only 30 matches (76.7% win ratio).

Friday in the North, the men of TJ Parker have generally mastered their subject, thanks in particular to Thomas Heurtel, on a cloud since he arrived at Asvel in early March.

With 15 points, 4 assists and an assessment of 17, the French international was Villeurbanne's most prominent player with Norris Cole (20 points).

Asvel will play again on Tuesday in Roanne, before a final regular season match at Astroballe against Monaco on June 18.

The National Basketball League has dedicated to reshaping the format of the Elite play-offs, with quarter-finals on a single set on the floor of the top four of the regular season on June 20 and 21, then a Final 4 in Rouen on June 24 and 26.
