In Makhachkala, law enforcement officials paid a visit to a shelter for women survivors of domestic violence to return Khalimat Taramova, who had escaped from her home, to Chechnya.

According to human rights activists, the girl hid from her relatives for a week because of domestic violence and beatings.

As RT found out, the apartment from which the girls were taken out is officially rented by Ekaterina Neroznikova, a participant in the local project to help victims of domestic violence "Marem".

She explained that she rents a living space specifically for women victims of violence who have nowhere else to go.

“When they need to prepare for departure, come to their senses, draw up documents - we allow them to stay in our apartment.

No one has any information about this apartment, the police most likely tracked her down, ”the interlocutor of RT believes.

Neroznikova stressed that Khalimat is an adult, she left home voluntarily.

The other day, the girl recorded a video message in which she stated that everything was fine with her, and asked not to look for her.

“As an adult, she had every right to leave home and write a statement with a request to remove her from both the local and federal wanted list.

Which she did, ”says Neroznikova.

"They took everyone"

According to Yekaterina Neroznikova, the police came to the apartment on June 11 and took away all the women who were there.

Among them is a 15-year-old girl who was in the shelter with her mother.

Human rights defenders still have no connection with the detainees.

“They took, according to my information, six people, perhaps seven.

All were taken to the Leninskoe ROVD (Makhachkala -

RT

).

According to my information, two girls who worked as volunteers were injured, ”Neroznikova said.

According to the human rights activist, Khalimat herself was taken to the central police department of Dagestan, from there she was already taken by her father.

Where Taramova is now, she does not know.

“They tried to force her to write a statement that she was forcibly detained,” said Ekaterina.

- She, of course, refused and claimed that she was hiding of her own free will.

After that, her father came and Halimat tried to escape through the window, but she was stopped.

After that, the employees gave her to her father and his company, which was waiting for her on the street.

Her further fate is unknown to us. "

RT appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic and Dagestan with a request to comment on the information about the detention of women from a crisis apartment in Makhachkala and the fate of Khalimat Taramova, but has not yet received a response.

The Ombudsman for Human Rights in Dagestan was also unable to promptly comment on the situation.

At the same time, the republican ombudsman Jamal Aliyev told TASS that he appealed to the Leninsky district prosecutor's office with a request to organize an inspection in connection with publications about the incident in the crisis center and an appeal “in case of confirmation of the illegal actions of police officers, to take response measures”.

Missing daughter

After human rights defenders reported on a police visit to an apartment for victims of domestic violence in Makhachkala, local media reported about Khalimat's father, Ayub Taramov.

The man, according to journalists, was previously a public assistant to the special representative of the President of Russia for ensuring human and civil rights and freedoms in the Chechen Republic, and also, according to some sources, worked as a deputy minister of housing and communal services in the government of Chechnya.

In 2003, he was allegedly detained for attempting to bribe.

The data on the personality of Halimat herself are also contradictory - as RT managed to find out, until March 2021 a girl with that name studied at the Russian New University in Moscow.

“Taramova Khalimat Ayubovna studied from October 2016 to March 2021 at the Tax Institute of the Russian New University in the direction of Economics by correspondence, profile - Tax and Taxation.

During her studies, she showed herself as an executive student.

Complied with contractual obligations, did not have financial and academic debts.

She enjoyed authority in the group, was correct with the teachers, ”the university said.

According to information from open sources, the full namesake of Halimat was also registered by LLC "Environmental Technologies" and an individual entrepreneur for the provision of services in the field of beauty - the latter has now been liquidated. RT managed to contact a representative of the company "Environmental Technologies", where Taramova is listed as the founder and founder. The interlocutor of RT said that Khalimat left for Moscow a few days ago, and she is not aware of the story of the escape from home and the search. At the same time, the woman said that Khalimat Taramova was “married and happy in marriage,” therefore, probably, the heroine of the resonant story is not their leader.
