In his address, the public figure noted that pneumatic weapons with a muzzle energy of not more than 7.5 J can be purchased by adult citizens without obtaining a license.

At the same time, air pistols, rifles, revolvers with a muzzle energy of no more than 3 J are currently sold in online stores with subsequent delivery to the buyer.

However, this method of trade does not always guarantee that it is adult citizens who will buy pneumatic products, and there are often reports in the media that pneumatic weapons were used by teenagers, Kurdesov noted.

“In this regard, I ask you to assess the feasibility of introducing a ban on the online sale of pneumatic pistols and other pneumatic products with a muzzle energy of no more than 3 J in Russia,” the appeal says.

Kurdesov added that these products are considered low-power, but many of them are equipped for firing metal balls, and the initial firing speed can be 120 m / s.

These characteristics are sufficient to cause significant damage to human health, especially when hitting vulnerable parts of the body, such as the eyes.

Earlier, the State Duma adopted a draft law on strengthening control over arms circulation.
