The boating industry sees a clear pandemic effect.

Demand is high for both new and used boats.

This is particularly noticeable at the advertising company Blocket, where three out of four boats are sold within a week.

A big increase from 2018 when only every fourth boat was sold so quickly.

- Several vendors testify that new boats start or have already ended, which means that used boats become high game, says Tero Marjamäki at Blocket.

Great interest in not having to own

But waiting ten years for a berth does not suit everyone and the interest in renting a boat or joining a boat pool has therefore increased.

Several companies offer different solutions for ownership-free boating and one of these is the boat sharing company Skipperi.

There, they have increased sales by 1,400% and hired about ten new employees since last year.
