Two days after his slap against Emmanuel Macron, during a trip by the latter to the Drôme, Damien T., who admitted the facts at the hearing, was tried, Thursday, June 10, in immediate appearance.

At the end of the hearing, the prosecution requested a sentence of 18 months in prison.

This slap, "completely inadmissible", is an "act of deliberate violence", argued the representative of the public prosecutor, facing the 28-year-old man, long hair, green t-shirt and glasses on his nose.

His act aroused the unanimous indignation of the French political class.

Arrested with him, his comrade "Arthur C. will be summoned to court for the end of the second half of 2022 in order to respond to offenses related to illegally held weapons" found at his home, said the public prosecutor, Alex Perrin.

Express your "dissatisfaction"

Residing in Saint-Vallier, north of Valence, the two men were arrested immediately after the incident.

They are "both unknown to the judicial and intelligence services".

They are members of associations of their commune "in connection with the martial arts, the Middle Ages and the manga universe", recalled the magistrate.

During his hearing, Damien T., "as a couple, without children, without profession", admitted "having dealt a blow to the Head of State and having spoken words denouncing the policy".

Close, according to him, to "the movement of yellow vests" and sharing "traditional political convictions of the right or ultra-right" without being "of any party or militancy expressed", he claimed to have "acted instinctively and 'without thinking' to express his dissatisfaction, "explained Alex Perrin.
