The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that two members of the Palestinian intelligence service were martyred and a third was critically wounded, in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.

Al-Jazeera correspondent quoted eyewitnesses as saying that an Israeli officer from the attacking Israeli forces was killed in the clashes.

The reporter added that the clashes broke out today, Thursday, when Israeli commandos stormed the city of Jenin after midnight.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the two martyrs were Adham Yasser Tawfiq Alawi (23 years), from the city of Nablus, and Tayseer Mahmoud Othman Issa (33 years), from the town of Mithun, Jenin district.

Videos broadcast by activists on social media showed the first moment of the clashes.

Palestinian media said that the occupation forces withdrew from Jenin after an armed clash near the intelligence headquarters on Nazareth Street.

Eyewitnesses reported that, upon their withdrawal, the occupation forces pushed reinforcements towards the northern entrance to the city of Jenin, while armed Palestinian elements from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Book of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) deployed in different areas of the city.
