Hear Anders Kjellqvist react to the archaeologists' new findings in the video above.

He, like his father before him, has heard the story many times.

About how his grandfather and his co-workers, who were then working on laying a new road in Varvs parish, suddenly stood with their feet in what they described as a mass grave.

They must have found old bones, pieces of metal and horseshoes.

But according to Anders, the foreman had no desire to interrupt the work to investigate the matter.

- He told them that "if you tell us what we have found today, you will not have a job tomorrow", says Anders Kjellqvist.

Now Anders' stories about his grandfather's discoveries have led to new discoveries.

- Only when we heard, we were a little hesitant.

These may be very large areas, but then it turned out that Anders could point out the exact location, so then it became very interesting, says archaeologist Martin Toresson.

The ground is now surveyed by radar.

The investigation shows that there may actually be something that could be a mass grave after the medieval battle of Gestilren, where Sverker the Younger fell.
