[100th Anniversary of the Communist Party of China] Visiting the footprints of Zhou Enlai and Zhu De in Germany

Germany is the hometown of Karl Marx.

Nearly a hundred years ago, in the early 1920s, Chinese Communists such as Zhou Enlai and Zhu De had studied and engaged in revolutionary activities in Berlin, Göttingen and other places in Germany.

China News Agency reporters recently visited the marks left by revolutionary pioneers in Göttingen and Berlin respectively, and realized the journey of Chinese progressive youth who traveled across oceans and searched for truth a hundred years ago.

Göttingen, a small city more than 300 kilometers west of the German capital Berlin, is a famous university city in Europe.

The University of Göttingen is one of the top universities in Europe and has produced more than 40 Nobel Prize winners.

Zhu De arrived in Göttingen in May 1923. His longest residence in Göttingen is at Planckstrasse 3.

On the centenary of Zhu De's birth, the city of Göttingen placed a commemorative nameplate on the outer wall of his former residence to commemorate this new Chinese marshal who had studied in Göttingen.

Zhou Enlai's activities in Germany are mainly concentrated in Berlin.

According to textual research, he lived near today's 117 Kant Avenue.

As early as the 1920s, Kant Avenue had opened many Chinese restaurants and Chinese shops, and became a famous little "Chinatown".

Today Kant Street still has many Chinese restaurants and Asian supermarkets. It is an Asian street in Berlin.

Zhou Enlai once left a photo of a cruise on a new lake in Berlin's Tiergarten Park.

Today, the New Lake Cruise Ferry is still a favorite attraction among Berliners.

Not far from the New Lake is the monument to Rosa Luxemburg, the pioneer of the German Communist Movement.

In 1924, Zhou Enlai returned to China to devote himself to the cause of revolution.

In 1925, Zhu De was forced to leave Germany due to changes in the situation, first went to the Soviet Union to study, and then returned to China in 1926.
