The third row of Toulon Charles Ollivon, captain of the French rugby team, suffers from a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, his club announced on Monday, without giving details on the duration of his unavailability.

"The medical examinations passed by the French and Toulon international Charles Ollivon, who was injured in the 15th minute against Castres Olympique this weekend, revealed a rupture of the cruciate ligament of the left knee. The third line of Toulon will have to undergo an operation surgical, "wrote the Var club in a press release.

This injury is a big blow for the RCT and for the France team, of which Ollivon is the captain (23 caps).

The duration of his unavailability has not been communicated but it will necessarily be several months.

For the same injury, another Toulonnais, Anthony Belleau had to wait eight months before returning to the lawns of Top 14.

It was on a breakthrough in the Castres defense in the 14th minute of the match against Castres that the captain of the France team was taken a little high by Mathieu Babillot and on the support, the knee gave way.

After having already experienced two fractures of the scapula and coming close to quitting rugby, the 28-year-old is therefore once again stopped in his progress.
