But the mosquito explosion can subside.

The warm dry weather affects the longevity of mosquitoes.

If the warm dry weather continues, the mosquitoes live a much shorter time.  

- Mosquitoes have a limited lifespan.

If it is a little cooler, they are not as aggressive, but live longer.

If it gets hot, they start at a sky-high speed but burn out quite quickly and do not live as long, says Jan O Lundström, who is the operations manager for the Biological Mosquito Control project.
