Milk stocks were recently contaminated with large quantities of antibiotics in Normandy.
Several dairies are concerned, five breeders located in the Virois bocage and one in the Orne, reports
Ouest France
.
All have lodged a complaint and refute the hypothesis of a production accident: for them it is necessarily a malicious act.
This is also the position of the Normandy Chamber of Agriculture.
"Sabotage of milk tanks, be vigilant," warns the structure on its website.
A gendarmerie investigation launched
"Large doses were found, which would exclude the error of handling", confirms Philippe Marie, president of the milk section of the FDSEA of Calvados, questioned by
Ouest France
.
The contaminated milk has been removed from the circuit and dairies are now performing rapid tests of the stocks arriving at them from local farms.
The gendarmes have opened an investigation into several malicious acts that allegedly took place between May 4 and 9.
In one of the farms concerned, sachets of antibiotics were found on the ground.
The Chamber of Agriculture contacted the breeders to ask them to report any suspicious behavior to the authorities.
She also recommends securing the premises and storing and locking up antibiotics.
