During this summit, the organization suspended Mali from its institutions, after a second putsch in nine months, which de facto brought Colonel Goïta to the head of this country, caught for nearly ten years in the security turmoil and Politics.

France, engaged militarily in Mali and the Sahel, had, for its part, suspended its joint military operations with the Malian forces.

In the meantime, Colonel Goïta was made transitional president on Monday, trying at the same time to provide pledges "on the dates set" on February 27, 2022, such as the holding of presidential and legislative elections.
