In its electronic version with the “

TousAntiCovid

application

, or by preferring the paper version, the health pass is based on a technical device based on QR-codes.

These digital validation keys are displayed during controls at the entrance of major events welcoming a large audience, with a green or red note indicating that the documents presented are valid or not in accordance with your health declarations.

Objective: to facilitate a return to normal

The other visible information concerns your name, first name and date of birth in order to formally identify you. “

No access to medical data is possible

”, reminds us the minister in charge of digital, Cédric O, who specifies that the

National Commission for Information

Technology

and Freedom

(CNIL) has just validated all the digital devices of “TousAntiCovid”, with however, requests for improvements regarding the document verification app.

✅ The @CNIL validates today the functioning of the #PassSanitaire.

Several additional guarantees requested by the CNIL have been provided to:

➡️ Guarantee better protection of personal data

➡️ Minimize the display of health data during checks

The CNIL validates the health pass system both that which is already integrated into the application such as TousAntiCovid-Carnet, but also the entire operating architecture of TousAntiCovid-Verified which will be made available to event organizers or airline managers.

In addition, and from the beginning of July our system will integrate the European health pass which should come into force on that date.

And, at the same time, we are in discussions with other countries such as those in the Maghreb or the United States in order to facilitate travel for the French, but also travel for foreign tourists

, ”explains Cédric O.

French people reluctant to share their data

A study conducted by the publisher of cybersecurity solutions Kaspersky reveals that 70% of Europeans would be ready to share their personal data to speed up the return to normalcy. But this report published on June 8 shows us that the French would be the least inclined in Europe to trust their government to manage the confidentiality of their health data, notes Pierre Delcher, computer security researcher at Kaspersky.

“

The digital health pass will contain a certain amount of personal information, starting with your first and last names, but also the brand of the vaccine and the number of doses administered to you. Obviously, we can see through our study that a certain number of French people do not seem convinced that the health data that they entrust to these applications are sufficiently protected. This is perhaps indicative of an issue which in this case demonstrates low trust in government, but which stems from a lack of in-depth thinking on the part of potential users regarding the technical details of protecting their personal data. implemented to ensure the security of the information conveyed by these applications

», Analyzed the researcher in computer science.

While the Portuguese show themselves at 56%, the most willing within the European Union to entrust the management of this so-called sensitive information to their government.

However, most Europeans believe that the subject of the confidentiality of health data is a major concern and that States must ensure that their policies for collecting and storing this information are sufficiently transparent and secure in order to establish a trust feeling.
