The number of jet skis has increased significantly in recent years.
Therefore, the Transport Committee has proposed to the government to say yes to the government's proposal for a driving license for personal watercraft.
The driving license will then be valid from the summer of 2022.
Today, there is only an age limit of 15 years for driving jet skis.
Last year, the county administrative board in Norrbotten announced that they wanted to raise the age for driving jet skis.
Driver's license required from the first of May 2022
According to the Government's proposal, a driver's license must be required for personal watercraft from 1 May 2022. The driver must have reached the age of 15 and have completed an education with an approved result.
The Swedish Transport Agency is working to develop detailed rules for those who will train and drive personal watercraft. The proposed rules are proposed to enter into force in connection with the Government's provision.
