In November 2020, the hashish party was seized by customs in Gothenburg.

It was found inside a cargo with 57 tons of marble slabs that arrived at the port of Gothenburg from Morocco.

Two men were sentenced in May to prison for receiving the party.

But the 32-year-old who has now been arrested is believed to be the real importer.

On Monday, he was arrested by customs, suspected of extremely serious drug smuggling, which DN was the first to report.

- I have requested that he be detained, prosecutor Jonas Almström tells SVT.

The man denies the crime

According to Jonas Almström, the man is a member of a criminal group based in Bergsjön in Gothenburg.

- He is part of the so-called Bergsjön network.

I do not know if he is a leader or gang member, but he has previously been convicted in a case from 2014 where the district court found that it was about the criminal network in Bersjön, says Jonas Almström.

The evidence includes messages from the mobile app Anom.

The 32-year-old man denies the crime.
