SVT Nyheter Öst has previously reported on housing around Torsjön, which was one of the proposed locations for the Swedish Transport Administration's blasting and soil masses from the construction of the railway tunnel through Kolmården.

In addition to the impact on the natural environment, the residents were worried about construction traffic.

Coats five surfaces

Now on Monday, the Swedish Transport Administration announces that it is ironing out five areas for temporary intermediate storage of masses, including at Torsjön.

- The Swedish Transport Administration instead plans to transport the masses directly to end users and thus bring about a better solution for climate, environment and economy.

The end users will be located through collaborations and procurements and recipients will be infrastructure projects and industrial and real estate developments, says Fay Scafe who is project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

No heavy vehicles

The Swedish Transport Administration also announces that no further work routes are planned other than that Stockholmsvägen will be used for establishment traffic between Trafikplats Strömsfors and Persdal for a shorter period at the beginning of the tunnel construction.

Gamla Stockholmsvägen Persdal-Åby will not be used by heavy vehicles but only by construction workers.
