The Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, warned that Iran's nuclear program has reached a high level of uranium enrichment, and is close to the stage of producing a nuclear weapon.
"What is happening is dangerous. We have a country with an ambitious and advanced nuclear program that reaches high levels of uranium enrichment and is very close to the stage of producing a nuclear weapon," he said.
"When I say this, I am describing the reality. Several months later, Iran has not provided the necessary explanations for the presence of nuclear material particles at any of the three sites where the Agency inspected," he said.
Grossi expressed in a press conference his hope that results will be reached soon in the ongoing negotiations on the Iranian nuclear file, saying that progress has been made in this field.
With regard to the International Atomic Energy Agency's negotiation of extending the monitoring agreement with Iran, he explained that the matter "is getting more difficult."
On May 24, the two sides announced the extension of the agreement for a month, and the initial period of the agreement between the two parties was three months.
Iran and world powers will enter a sixth round of talks on June 10, in the Austrian capital Vienna, that may lead to Washington lifting economic sanctions on Iranian oil exports.
And last April, the Vienna talks began to revive the nuclear agreement between Iran and major countries after the withdrawal of the administration of former US President Donald Trump from it in 2018.
