China News Agency, Guiyang, June 6-Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and the Indonesian President's special envoy and leader of cooperation with China Luhut co-chaired the first meeting of the China-Indonesia high-level dialogue and cooperation mechanism in Guiyang on the 5th, and jointly met with reporters.

Wang Yi said that China and Indonesia are both large developing countries and important emerging economies with extensive common interests and broad prospects for cooperation.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, we have taken the joint fight against the epidemic and seek common development as the main line to promote the prosperity of bilateral relations and set a model for cooperation between regional countries.

Wang Yi said that the China-Indonesia high-level dialogue and cooperation mechanism aims to implement the important consensus recently reached by the two heads of state, integrate and upgrade the original dialogue and cooperation channels, and create a new platform for the two countries to further expand all-round cooperation and add new impetus.

Wang Yi said that the two sides agreed to make good use of this new mechanism to upgrade bilateral cooperation from the "troika" of politics, economy, and humanities to a "four-wheel drive" of political, economic, cultural, and maritime cooperation, and further coordinate. All sources of resources, coordinate the forces of various departments, promote greater development of bilateral relations in the post-epidemic period, and create greater well-being for the two peoples.

The two parties jointly announced the full launch of the "Spring Seed Operation" in Indonesia.

Wang Yi emphasized that, as large developing countries and responsible members of the international community, China and Indonesia have a highly compatible attitude and position on the vaccine issue.

Based on the principle of people first and life first, we actively carry out vaccine cooperation, making it a new bright spot in the relationship between the two countries and setting a model for developing countries.

Wang Yi said that the current imbalance of vaccination in various countries is very prominent. Some developed countries are hoarding vaccines, and many developing countries have no vaccines to fight.

China firmly resists "vaccine nationalism" and opposes the creation of an "immune gap."

China has announced support for the intellectual property rights exemption for the new crown vaccine, promoted technology transfer from enterprises to developing countries, supported joint production, and expanded the accessibility and affordability of vaccines.

China will encourage more varieties of Chinese vaccines to carry out clinical trials in Indonesia, support Indonesia in building a regional vaccine production center, and jointly promote the fair and reasonable distribution of vaccines on a global scale, especially among developing countries.

Luhut said that with China's vigorous help, Indonesia has effectively responded to the epidemic, which has provided a strong guarantee for the development of high-level bilateral practical cooperation, and has become a new bright spot for building Indonesia-China solidarity and cooperation. Indonesia hopes to continue to cooperate with China in the entire industry chain in vaccine research and development, production and other fields, and build a regional vaccine production center as soon as possible. Indonesia is also willing to actively cooperate with China in implementing the "Spring Seedling Operation" to help Chinese citizens in Indonesia get vaccinated. (Finish)
