“We are vigilant and very closely following what is happening in Belarus,” Stoltenberg said in an interview with Welt am Sonntag.

According to him, NATO is ready, if necessary, to protect allies from "any threat emanating from Minsk and Moscow."

He noted that the alliance is concerned about closer cooperation between Russia and Belarus in recent months.

Earlier, Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO leaders at the June 14 summit in Brussels are planning to discuss Russia's actions near the borders of Ukraine.
