The American tennis player left the stage in the round of 16 of the Roland Garros women's singles, second round of the Grand Slam, on French clay.



The former number 1 in the world and seventh seeding force, has surrendered against the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, 22 of the WTA ranking, with a score of 6-3 7-5.

In the quarter-finals Rybakina will face the Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (31), who defeated the Belarusian Victoria Azarenka (15) 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.



The Spanish Paula Badosa Gilbert, number 35 in the world, beat the Czech Marketa Vondrousova, 21 in the international ranking, by 6-4 3-6 6-2.

finals, victorious over the Romanian Sorana Cirstea for 7-6 (4), 6-1.
