In Manaus, the capital of the Amazonas state in northern Brazil, drug traffickers who lost their head by police indiscriminately set fire to retaliatory arson, causing chaos.

According to the Amazonas state government on the 6th local time, at least 16 buses, police vehicles and ambulances were burned in downtown Manaus this morning.

It is said that commercial buildings, power transmission towers and bank branches were also attacked in various places.

It has not been confirmed whether there have been any casualties.

Manaus was suspended from public transport all morning, but only resumed operation after noon amid police vigilance.

The police have secured CCTV and are analyzing the video, but it is known that the crime took place at dawn, making it difficult to determine the identity of the arsonist.

The police killed the head of a large drug trafficking organization CV during the crackdown on drug trafficking the day before.

A police officer said, "It appears that the gang members imprisoned in the prison ordered the arson."

In addition to Manaus, arson occurred in 4 or 5 other cities, but the exact damage was not known.
