06 June 2021 The Catalan GP goes to Miguel Oliveira (Ktm) ahead of the Ducati of Zarco and Miller. Quartararo at the foot of the podium remains the leader of the World Championship with 118 points, +17 over Zarco. At 28 Miller points, Pecco Bagnaia at 30.

Immediately a thrill. In the alignment lap, entering turn 5, Jorge Martin falls and ends up in the sand, thus forced to start from the bottom. Excellent start for Miller who takes the lead in front of Oliveira and Quartararo. The Portuguese marks Miller tightly, while Mir goes back to fourth place. Close duel between Miller and the Portuguese who takes the lead while Quartararo seems to be losing ground. Very fast Aleix Espargaro who with Aprilia moves to third position, but does not last long. After 7 laps Quartararo comes back second ahead of Mir and sets off in pursuit of Oliveira.

Pol Espargaro and Petrucci fall. At turn 10 Marc Marquez ends up on the ground, an ok driver, but the race is over for him who was offering an excellent performance. The race thrives on the duel between Oliveira and Quartararo with the Frenchman who finds a frenzied pace, meanwhile, after the start launched, Aleix Espargaro also falls. The Portuguese of the KTM keeps pace with Quartararo, while Mir is slightly more detached. On lap 12 Quartararo takes the lead but Oliveira resists and goes back, between the two it's a show. After 15 laps the Portuguese KTM leads the group: Quartararo, Mir, Zarco and Miller are very close. On lap 16 Valentino Rossi, who has never been in the race, also crashes. Oliveira remains in front, but Quartararo is lurking. The two have a second advantage over Zarco and Miller.

Three laps from the end Zarco approaches the French and passes him on the straight and takes the Ducati to 2nd place. Opportunity to escape for Oliveira. An incredible fact also happens: Quartararo's suit opens and he is forced to run bare-chested! On the last lap Zarco tries everything and gets close to Oliveira but the Portuguese resists and makes the race his own. Quartararo is penalized with 3 seconds for having cut turn 1 and leaves the podium to Miller. In the end, therefore, two Ducatis on the podium. In the top ten 'Pecco' Bagnaia, seventh, and Franco Morbidelli, ninth.
