It takes a lot of puzzling to cope with staffing for the usual intensive care and corona-iva.

For the employees, the summer schedule is not ready, and on Monday the negotiations on how long the work shifts will be will end.

Safety representative critical of the treatment

The region wants to see a pass of 12.5 hours, but the union's proposal for extra compensation for this has been rejected.

- The Norrbotten region has not shown its best side during the entire pandemic.

For once, it would be very fun if the Norrbotten Region voluntarily made an offer to the staff, says Ilona Karlsson, assistant nurse at iva and safety representative for Kommunal.

May be forced to take extra passes

If the 12.5-hour shift becomes a reality, it will, according to Kommunal, still not fill all the gaps in the schedule.

Which means that already tired staff have to go into additional shifts.

- Should I work my 12.5 hour shifts according to schedule and out extra on days off ... what will my holiday be like then?

Should I be a couch potato for four weeks or will I have the energy left to do things with the family, says Catrin Jakobsson, assistant nurse at iva at Sunderby hospital.
