It was around 9 p.m. local time when these armed terrorist groups returned to the village of Solhan, targeted the night before by

an attack that killed more than 100 people

.

They were numerous, some sources speak of at least 200 fighters.

According to our sources, they split into three groups.

The first clashed with Burkinabè soldiers in the village of Baniaba, not far from Solhan.

To prevent the Burkinabè soldiers from advancing, these armed men placed improvised explosive devices on the roads.

The second group returned to Solhan.

It is this group which continued the looting and the burning of all that had still remained as material goods on the spot.

They stayed in the village for several hours, before leaving, according to our sources.

As for the third group, it headed towards Mansila, which raises fears of another attack in this area, in the days to come, according to our sources.

National mourning was followed in the capital.

The flags were half mast at the level of the public administration.

It was not the atmosphere of great days, especially weekends in Ouagadougou.

The maquis, restaurants, bars and others opened their doors, but there was no music.

The musical radios of the capital have modified their programming to make way for softer music… The closing evening of the Jazz festival in Ouaga, one of the biggest jazz festivals in Africa, which was to take place at the French Institute de Ouagadougou, was simply canceled and postponed until next Tuesday.
