The head of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murashko, said that the risk of contracting coronavirus infection after vaccination is less than 1%.

According to him, there is no 100% protection after vaccination, but the likelihood of getting sick after it becomes minimal.

“Today we see everyone who has been vaccinated and at one stage or another faced a coronavirus infection - this is less than 0.8%.

This is a very low figure, much less than if you take patients who fell ill without vaccination, ”Murashko said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

His words are quoted by TASS.

Murashko stressed that those vaccinated most often carry the coronavirus in a mild form, in case of illness they will not need hospitalization.

“There are patients who may develop the disease - they often have some kind of immunosuppressive diseases associated with suppression of the immune system or some feature of the immune system, as well as patients with severe chronic non-infectious diseases,” Murashko explained.

The minister also warned that in some patients "the infection develops at lightning speed."

“Progress is progressing very quickly.

From mild to moderate, the condition can change within a day, ”said Murashko, noting that this circumstance should become a weighty argument in favor of vaccination.

He also raised the issue of collective responsibility.

According to the head of the Ministry of Health, the risks for the population as a whole become minimal as the number of vaccinated people grows.

According to the headquarters, 9163 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Russia over the past day.

At the same time, 7369 people fully recovered, and 351 died from complications that developed against the background of COVID-19, and concomitant diseases.

Over the entire period of observations in the Russian Federation, 5,126,437 cases of coronavirus infection were detected.

123 787 deaths were recorded, 4 736 446 people recovered.

266,204 cases remain active.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, over 140.4 million laboratory tests for coronavirus were performed over the entire period of the epidemic, including 483 thousand in the last day.

527,008 people remain under medical supervision.

Collective immunity in the RF Armed Forces

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation announced the formation of collective immunity to coronavirus in military personnel.

This was announced by the head of the Military Medical Academy named after S.M.

Kirov Evgeny Kryukov.

“The Ministry of Defense has completed the formation of collective immunity,” TASS quotes Kryukov as saying on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

He noted that the vaccination of the military was voluntary and easier than that of civilians.

“They (servicemen. -

He emphasized that the Ministry of Defense was the first to use many medical developments for the treatment of coronavirus.

“For the first time in the ministry, we have used glucocorticoids to treat coronavirus infection.

We first started using plasma from patients who recovered.

Together - the same developments were also carried out by the Moscow health care.

But for the first time the Ministry of Defense began to use plasma from patients who were vaccinated, ”added Kryukov.

RAS on the role of science in defeating COVID-19

President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) Alexander Sergeev announced the decisive role of science in the victory over the coronavirus.

According to him, the opinion of scientists was listened to in the relevant departments in time.

“It was the scientists who managed to take control of the situation from the very first weeks of the spread of the infection, the opinion of scientists was heeded both by the Ministry of Health and the Rospotrebnadzor.

Research centers and institutes immediately began work on the creation of test systems, drugs, vaccines, ”TASS quoted him as saying.

According to the head of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the coronavirus will turn into a seasonal disease.

“But we will definitely take control of the coronavirus.

And most importantly, we have already overcome phobias in front of him, we know what to do and how to do it, ”concluded Sergeev.
