Trump's first public speech in months

Former US President Donald Trump's accounts have been suspended on social media, but he is still influential among Republicans, and on Saturday evening he will deliver his first public speech in months in light of his desire to return to the White House in the 2024 elections.

Trump speaks at the Republican Convention in North Carolina, the state that voted for him twice in the 2016 and 2020 elections.

"It looks like the seats will be full, all records are broken!" the former president wrote in a statement Friday.

The reservation places were closed after selling about 1,250 tickets, according to the organizers of the rally, which will be held in Greenville, in the southwest of the United States.

That number is much lower than the thousands who attended his famous election rallies, but anticipation remains high in his first speech since February.

Although he has not officially announced the matter, the 74-year-old billionaire appears willing to run again in November 2024.

Still popular with Republican voters, Trump is far from silent, despite his social media ban.

The former president considers himself a kingmaker, and distributes in daily press releases his electoral support for his party's candidates... and his sharp criticism of his opponents.

In the coming months, Trump may return to organizing the large electoral rallies that appeal to him.
