The reopening of the interior of the restaurants will take place on June 9, date of the next stage of deconfinement.

Establishments without a terrace will finally be able to welcome customers.

But for some, worry disputes him in haste, as for the boss of La tête de Lard in Strasbourg.

Restaurant owners without a terrace had to be patient.

Unlike their colleagues, they could not open on May 19 and still have to wait until June 9.

The date of this new stage of deconfinement approaching, preparations are accelerating but not without some concern.

Alvin Singh, the owner of the restaurant La tête de lard, in the heart of Strasbourg, will be able to open after seven months of waiting, but that does not mark the end of his troubles, especially on the financial level.

"We hope that the helpers will follow," says the boss.

Except that state aid began to decrease on June 1 and will continue to gradually decrease, in stages, until September.

Employers will have to pay part of the partial unemployment and the solidarity fund will be less generous.

"We're a little afraid of having to go out of business"

All this worries Alvin Singh for the next few months.

"Me, I don't have a terrace, nothing at all. So in July and August, it is the lowest and strongest period, it is from September until March-April."

He believes that continuous aid until September or October "would have been a good thing".

La tête de bacon has been around for more than 40 years and its boss has already had to separate from two of its six employees because of the Covid.

He fears that the next difficulty will be fatal to him.

"We have already been indebted with guaranteed loans from the State, we are starting to repay it already this year, while we are still closed. We have large rents. We are a little afraid of having to shut down. the door, ”he concludes.
