Covid-19: New York resumes an almost normal life

Just a year ago, New York was the global epicenter of the Covid-19 epidemic.
Now, vaccinated residents can walk around without masks and the city has just recorded a significant drop in cases of contamination.

In the corridors of the metro, the music is back.
After fourteen months of absence, the street artists resumed their shows.
To the delight of New Yorkers ...
“
It's a beautiful day here in New York!
It's been a long time since we saw this.
And getting out of the metro and hearing this music, it's so beautiful relaxing.
It's a gradual return to normal life for New Yorkers,
”says the resident.
For the first time since the start of the pandemic, Covid contamination is at its lowest in New York: less 95% since January.
This week, there was even a day without death linked to the epidemic.
A trend attributed to vaccination which continues since more than half of New Yorkers are vaccinated.

There are more people vaccinated in the city.
If we continue, summer should be good!
Said another passer-by when questioned.
In recent weeks, New York has lifted a large part of the restrictions linked to the pandemic.
And the streets have regained some of their agitation.
“
The tourists are back.
I just can't wait to take off my mask and enjoy the summer,
”he continues.
“
We have every reason to be optimistic.
We're in Times Square there and people are back.
It feels good to see the city come back to life,
”adds another.
To continue to encourage New Yorkers to get vaccinated, the city has set up new vaccination sites at the two main bus and train stations.
