"I very much hope that the future leadership of the Federal Republic, bearing in mind the special nature of our relations and interest in continuing our cooperation, will accordingly build relations (...) in the political sphere," Putin said during a meeting with the leaders of international news agencies.
He also announced his readiness for "full-scale work" and overcoming all difficulties.
According to Putin, "thousands of German companies operate in Russia, the volume of mutual investments is $ 29 billion."
Earlier, the Russian president expressed hope for the stability of relations between Russia and the FRG.
