March 26, 2017The body found in a suitcase, found yesterday morning at sea, at the port of Rimini, is of a woman of oriental origin. To make the discovery two friends who were working on putting a boat back into the water.

The corpse in an advanced state of decomposition, death would have occurred at least 10 days ago, was folded in a blue trolley. On the spot arrived the agents of the Mobile Police Squad, the Scientific and the magistrate on duty Davide Ercolani who coordinates the investigations.

According to what emerged, it would be the body of an extremely thin woman in her 40s, with oriental facial features, curled up in the suitcase without clothes on. On the body there would be no signs of injuries but only the autopsy, scheduled for Monday, will be able to dispel doubts about the causes.

The investigations range in the round without discarding any eventuality. Among the hypotheses is also the one that the body, resurfaced in the Rimini port, may be that of Xing Lei Li, the 36-year-old of Chinese origin who disappeared during a cruise in the Mediterranean on a MSC ship

with her family.

The story sees the woman's husband Daniel Belling, 45-year-old Irish, in prison, accused of the death of his wife whose traces were lost on February 10: the man was arrested on February 20 on charges of voluntary homicide while he was on his way to Ciampino airport to catch a plane, together with his two children aged 6 and 4, and return to Ireland. The 45-year-old has always denied all accusations, saying that his wife had voluntarily left the ship.

On the discovery of the body at the port, clarified the chief prosecutor of Rimini, Paolo Giovagnoli, "the investigations are in progress, we cannot confirm", at the moment, no hypothesis. The one that the body may be of 36-year-old Xing Lei Li, "we have taken it into consideration and it is evaluated like any other way that can clarify". Regarding the fact that the body closed in the trolley may have been dragged along the Romagna coast by currents, Giovagnoli merely observes that "the closest point to Rimini is 1,200 kilometers" from the passage of the boat in the stretch of sea "from Italy to Greece. ". As for the fact that the body of the woman found in the Adriatic may be of a different height than Xing Lei Li, who would seem shorter, the Rimini prosecutor limits himself to a "our woman is 1.70 meters tall, the one from Civitavecchia, they tell me, 1.52 meters, but I'm not sure"
