This Sunday, June 6 takes place the second round of four partial legislative elections.

The results of at least two of them will be scrutinized with particular attention at the national level, in Paris and in Pas-de-Calais.

A government post at stake and a test for the majority: the candidacy in Pas-de-Calais of the Minister in charge of Autonomy Brigitte Bourguignon promised to be tricky. The first round finally turned to the advantage of the former socialist, with nearly 13 points ahead of the candidate of the National Rally she faces in the second round. Brigitte Bourguignon should be able to count on the votes of the Republicans and the Socialist Party who called to block the far right, but beware of participation, less than 25% of those registered a week ago.

In the 20th arrondissement of Paris, voters became even rarer, barely more than 15% of them turned out last Sunday. Each vote could therefore weigh heavily in this second round to decide between the socialist Lamia El Aaraje and the rebellious Danielle Simonnet. A defeat in this historic bastion of the Socialist Party would look bad for the presidential ambitions of the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, of whom Lamia El Aaraje is a protégé. And this is what the leader of the Insoumis Jean-Luc Mélenchon hopes, eager to appear as the only recourse of the left in 2022.

The other two

partial legislative elections

take place in the Indre where the UDI candidate Sophie Métadier, supported by LR and LaREM, is the favorite.

In the Oise, Victor Habert (LR) hopes to take over from his uncle Olivier Dassault, who died accidentally in March.

He collected 58% of the votes in the first round, but without reaching the necessary quorum of 50% participation.
