The Paris Bourse regained a little confidence (+ 0.12%) Friday after the publication of monthly employment figures in the United States which confirm the good direction of the world's largest economy, while warding off the risk of a monetary tightening.

The flagship CAC 40 index advanced 7.74 points to 6,515.66 points the day after a slight drop of 0.21%.

Over the week, the Parisian rating took 0.49%.

Since the start of the year it has gained more than 17%.

"Market operators have relaxed a bit after the publication of US employment figures," which created a "breath of fresh air" in the markets, comments Franklin Pichard, director of Kiplink Finance.

The world's largest economy created 559,000 jobs in May, twice as many as in April, a sign that the recovery is accelerating, but less than expected by analysts.

The unemployment rate is on the decline again to 5.8%.

These figures "validate the right direction that the American economy is taking" but at the same time, they "remove a little the specter of monetary tightening of the American Federal Reserve", observes the expert.

Because "too many job creations would have sown discord among investors and would have anticipated a close tightening on the part of the American central bank", he explains.

7.6 million jobs are still missing compared to February 2020, before the US economy was hit hard by containment measures intended to halt the progression of Covid-19.

President Joe Biden has put forward the need to adopt his two investment plans for American families and in infrastructure supposed to create millions of additional jobs.

Vivendi is backing down

The Vivendi group sold 0.27% to 29.17 euros, after announcing that it had entered into discussions with Bill Ackman, who wishes to include Universal Music Group (UMG) in his Spac project (listed vehicle).

Vivendi plans to distribute UMG's capital to its shareholders and to go public.

If the transaction goes through, Vincent Bolloré's group could be an 18% shareholder in UMG according to an Oddo BHF analyst.

Its title took 1.58% to 4.36 euros.
