In the clip above, he tells what a new law could look like and how much effect a fine will have, when the passengers in the car share the amount.

In the past, it has been difficult for the police to, in general, fine people who drive around and disturb the city with their music.

There are many, different, Arvika residents who have their night's sleep disturbed, night after night, says Jonas Wendel, head of Arvika's local police area.

- Residents call me and either you are pissed or resigned, or you cry, he says.

In the last month, the police have begun to fine those who disturb.

SEK 1,000 for the traffic offense unnecessary and disruptive driving in residential buildings.

Disorderly conduct

However, that legal space covers only a small part of the problem picture.

Most disturbances are about annoying behavior - a crime that must go all the way through the justice system and a possible punishment thus comes much later.

In addition, it is not a crime that is included in the traffic legislation, and thus does not affect the driver's license as unnecessary and disruptive driving can do.

Right now, the Public Prosecutor is investigating whether the police should be able to fine for this as well, then with SEK 800.

But, the best thing would have been a new law, which is included in the traffic legislation and addresses more specifically this type of problem, thinks Jonas Wendel.
