In particular, Nikolaev recalled that the period from 2021 to 2030 has been declared the Decade of Health in the republic.

“I believe that along with the traditional approaches - the construction of new healthcare facilities, the improvement of the equipment (of healthcare institutions -

) with high-class medical equipment, personnel training - we should also go in other directions,” he said.

Among such areas, as Nikolayev noted, should include, among other things, the development of disease prevention, mass medical examination of the population, personalized medicine, as well as a more active introduction of genetics methods in the treatment of diseases that are inherent in the inhabitants of the North.

“We set the task that from today's 72-73 years of average life expectancy in Yakutia by 2030 we must reach the milestone of 80 years.

The task is very ambitious.

Here simply the development of healthcare as a system of medical institutions will not do, ”the head of Yakutia emphasized.

He also spoke about how the republic survived the coronavirus crisis, as well as what measures are being taken by the regional authorities to combat the spread of the disease.

“The coronavirus pandemic shocked the whole world, the republic was no exception.

Unfortunately, almost 40 thousand people in our country have had this disease since the beginning of the pandemic, about 700 people have died.

We are going through these deaths hard.

At the same time, in general, the health care system coped with the onslaught of the disease.

Despite the fact that in the spring we had a certain increase in the incidence rate, we are now quite confidently coping with the disease, ”Nikolayev specified.

Against this background, he stressed that vaccination is currently "the most important weapon against the disease."

“Today in our republic about 175 thousand people have already been vaccinated.

We will continue this campaign in order to vaccinate as many people as possible and protect them from this terrible danger, ”summed up the head of the region.

Earlier, Nikolaev said that vaccination in the republic is voluntary.
