"The Arabs outside", or even "bougnoules".

The words marked on seven election posters in three different points of collage in the 13th arrondissement of Marseille leave little doubt as to the racist nature of the comments.

"Racism is not an opinion but a crime," recalls Hassen Hammou.

The facts date back to June 1, but the complaint for racist insults was filed today at the 14th arrondissement police station.

"I expect the other candidates in the canton to unanimously denounce these things," added Hassen Hammou.

In the process, the candidate for departmental announced that he had set up a "campaign vigilance committee under the chairmanship of Serge Quaziz, former municipal councilor of Marseille and member of the Jewish community".
