The Democratic Party has exclusively adopted the report of the hearing of Justice Minister candidate Kim Oh-soo.

This is the 32nd ministerial-level appointment by the ruling party alone since the inauguration of the Moon Jae-in government.

The National Assembly Judiciary Committee held a plenary meeting for the adoption of the hearing report this morning (31st), but the members of the opposition judiciary did not attend, demanding the adoption of an agreement on the hearing report.

Today is the last day President Moon Jae-in requested the retransmission of a report on candidate Kim, and the Democratic Party was unable to reach an agreement with the opposition parties who demanded the adoption of an agreement on the hearing report.

The Personnel Hearings Act stipulates that if the National Assembly exceeds the deadline for submitting a hearing report, the president can request a resend within ten days.

If the National Assembly does not submit a report by the retransmission period requested by the President, the President may appoint the same.

Earlier, on the 27th, President Moon requested the National Assembly to resend the report, but it was analyzed that he was actually carrying out the appointment process for Kim.

As the National Assembly adopts the hearing report, Kim is expected to take office as prosecutor general within this week.

When Candidate Kim takes office as president, he will deal with the case of Kim Hak-eui, former Vice Minister of Justice's illegal departure ban, the alleged manipulation of the economic evaluation of the Wolseon nuclear power plant, and the assault of a taxi driver by former Vice Justice Lee Yong-gu.
